Chilean Semi Professional Basketball Update for Aug 24

Currently, semi professional Basketball leagues are underway, only allowing nationals, and divided in regions. The qualified teams go to the Professional Leagues to start later this year.

LIBCENTRO

Liga de Básquetbol del Centro, the new semi professional League, including only nationals, is played in the Chilean Center Zone, and just finished the semi-finals round.

South Zone Semifinalis:

In Chillán: Maxibasquet Chillán 76-91 Boston College Maipú.

In Maipú, Boston College defeated Maxibasquet Chillán 116-71, and took the series 2-0 in best-of-three semifinals.

A new Region V classic was played in North Zone Semifinals.

In Viña del Mar: Sagrados Corazones Viña 66-71 Colegio Los Leones Quilpué. It went to Overtime tied 61-61, Los Leones returned from a 22 points trail in the first Quarter.

At Quilpué: Los Leones 64-53 Sagrados Corazones Viña

Finals are in a best-of-five series.

LIBSUR

This traditional Southern League has teams playing in all age series, only with nationals. Its series are starting from Under-13 (Sub 13, Sub 15, Sub 17 and Sub-23).

We will focus the Adults (Under-23 years old).

Currently the Tournament is on Playoffs. Here are the teams:

Asociación de Básquetbol Ancud, Asociación de Básquetbol Temuco-Ñielol, Deportes Castro, Español Osorno, CD. Las Animas, CD Puerto Varas.

The best eight Adult LIBSUR teams are qualified to Liga Nacional Básquetbol in the second semester.

LIBCENTRO is broadcasted Live CDO TV Premium and CDO High Definition, a good chance to see those away games. Some delayed LIBSUR games have been available: at Osorno broadcasted on OsornoTV+, at Chiloé can be seen on TeleSur-Castro.
