Federation backed Liga Nacional de Básquetbol, continues the Third Phase [on Male Adults] after the TOP 4 that choosed Inacap to play Liga Sudamericana. LNB has a future because has different levels: Male Superior, Male Adult and Male Promotional; also Female Adult and Female Under-17.

Also a team can play on other levels like Superior and Adult, depending on their quality.

On Males, Osorno Básquet, Boston College, Sagrados Corazones Viña and Municipal Puente Alto play both Liga Nacional championships.

In three Groups, 11 teams play regionally, and the top eight will play series of best-of-three play-offs best vs worst and second to less-worst and so on, then another series of best-of-three semifinals, to play the finals on a best-of-five series ending December 18.

One foreign player is MANDATORY.

Regular Season ends November First.

The Concepción teams have two less games.

Universidad Católica won over three regular teams by large difference, and beat Providencia by one, so Católica is a sure bet.

On three teams only Group C, Three-times-in-a-row and current DIMAYOR Champions Liceo Mixto dissapointed: lost the first two games one against Boston College beat in Los Andes so we have a winner.

I interviewed and saw Liceo's two foreign players Tim Crowell and Thurman Zimmerman on Casa del Deporte: still have low performance in a team that is restructuring. TZ just came back from USA at the end of September, Crowell was driving the ball without self confidence. Patrick Sáez is RETIRING... Theese are NAMES, NOT A TEAM, they need to play more collectively. Briones?

On Group A, top candidates Español and UDECONCE faced eachother in Concepción and UDECONCE won, or as Español lost it. It was an emotional game for which I have a report to post.
I predict this order: UDECONCE, Español qualify first, Alemán may make the best third, Osorno Básquet need to recover Hernández and Blackwell or will finish last.

División Mayor del Básquetbol has not fixture (calendar) yet, not even defined the teams, so regional championships are scheduled. Then there should be wider North & South Zonal Championships to finish in the now popular TOP 4 style weekend.

This weekend there was one in Puerto Montt, Universidad Los Lagos [ULA] won over Valdivia.

Hola Deportes has been showing delayed weekday sports games at midnight on telecanal, including basketball games from Liga Movistar. No previous announcement but the same day. Both UDECONCE games were recorded.

The Chilean Under-15 Men Team qualified to the FIBAAMERICA's Pre World Cup (U-16) in Canada 2011 for the First time. "Manu" Córdoba is been proving to succeed on U-18 and Juegos Araucanía.
