This is the last weekend of the Fair, you can find some items in sale, but the best are probably gone, still, you can get in touch with the artisans, they may take orders, that is the beauty of this Fair: you can reach the artists, it is not just a shop.
Viva Dichato
In order to continue helping the reconstruction process of the devastated Dichato Bay, the Festival "Viva Dichato" will run every Saturday, with famous popular bands performing live, including radio transmissionn and nationwide TV (from 23:30). You need to get your free invitations on any of several locations on the Region VIII.

Jose Luis Rodríguez, Américo, Pimpinela, Myriam Hernández, Macho y El Rey (Washiturros), Los Enanitos Verdes, Luis Jara, Marcos Llunas, Mario Guerrero, La Noche ft. Leo Rey, Los Viking 5, Los Charros de la Comuna de Lumaco, Los Llaneros de la Frontera and La Rancherita.
But humor will also be present, with:
Ricardo Meruane, Indo (performed by Fernando Godoy), Bastian Paz and El "Huaso" Filomeno.

Santa Juana week
"Santa Juana" rural Comuna has its official week of activities.
From January 28 to February 5, there are traditional and populkar exhibitions, available at one hour travel form Concepción, the Capital city. Buses from Concepción depart all day every 20 minutes.
Every activity takes place in the Main Plaza, unless noticed.

Soccer:
Both Primera División teams got positive results, Primera B is programmed, starts Febreuary 5.
Huachipato 2-1 Wanderers : Huachipato defined the game at the late second half.. The club is satisfied with the result, some things need to be polished
U. La Calera 1-1 CD UDECONCE : Exciting game under a Valley heat and long grass conditions, because so many missed changes of goal. Calera tied the game lasting 10 minutes. Considering UDECONCE was missing seven players for injuries and suspensions, returned with comformity.

Tarde Navalina finished 1-1 hosting Ñublense. Previous Tarde Roja finished Ñublense 3-2 Naval.
Concepción and Naval declared their goal are to be promoted to Primera División.
Lota Schwager will play its two first local games in Municipal "Collao" stadium in Concepción, since the works on Federico Schwager stadium in Coronel will finish March 5.

Segunda División
Amateur Organization ANFA complained in FIFA the decision of ANFP to create the new Division "Segunda". So even when the team spots are decided, launching was postponed. The controversy, ANFA says, is that Tercera División loses its direct promotion to Primera B (ANFP). A more detailed article is to be posted soon.
Fernández Vial applied to Segunda División, but has own internal problem: elections face current and sepparating directors, the clock is ticking to validate the decision to change to Segunda or stay in Tercera, since the continuity directors claim the spot to Segunda is secured. Iberia Los Ángeles also applied to Segunda.
Basketball
On basketball League Dimayor, UDECONCE lost its third visitor game in a row, 95-91 against Liceo Mixto. Liceo took early distance, mainly by bad shooting selection. A good comeback ended first half even: 40-40. Later parity was broken starting fourth quarter by a 9-0 points streak, that was replied late to have the 2 final minutes in a no bigger than 4 points difference. Two failed three point shots by UDECONCE could not turn the game around. Thursday, February second, the two games series will faced them again.

Major news: Hualpén Mayor indicted. Primaries candidates inscribed.
Last week, enough evidence for indicting Mayor Rivera of Hualpén was gathered and an accusation was presented, it was granted to procede the process, but also the Judge decided Rivera is to remain in custody for being "a danger to society". An appeal was denied, so Rivera will continue detained for at least two months while the investigations continue. The Council resumed functions. Rivera was also being secretly investigated (details are under secrecy). Renounced former prosecutor recognised the charges are essentially the same.
Being elections year, and parties being low on the polls, still the Concertación Coalition, for the Christian Democracy (DC) party, received inscriptions for Primaries Tuesday, January 31. Surprisingly, current Mayor Aguilera from Tomé inscribed as independent, after he renounced his DC party affiliation.
After all the signatures are certified, then the remaining date wil be set, before April's all Coalition Primaries. Hualpén also received extra time to inscribe.
