With rain or thunder: American Football Sunday, Rainday in Concepcion

Sunday, May 6 2012, we attended an historic event: the debut of Legion American Football, the first game on Estadio Universitario, and the first broadcast, direct and live, of an american football game from Concepcion-City.

“The winner seemed obvious before the game” … no “domina[tion] until the third quarter, and the score was not superior enough but on the last quarter”

The odds were against it: there was a very intense rain, and an important soccer game in the Municipal Stadium with more than 15000 attendees and, well, the new team Legion Concepcion, on Liga Chilena de Fútbol Americano (Chilean League of American Football, LCFA) was underestimated since its average age is 22 years and it took 13 months to play it first official League game.

But considering the way the game developed, a winner was not clear after the first half finished.

Llueva y Truene: Domingo de Fútbol Americano en Concepción

El domingo 6 de mayo de 2012 asistimos a un histórico evento: el debut de Legion, el primer partido en el Estadio Universitario, y también la primera transmisión en vivo y en directo de este deporte desde Concepción.

“...el ganador parecía obvio antes del juego … hasta el tercer cuarto no se demostró un dominio, y en el marcador no se decidió sino hasta el último...”

Lo negativo antes de: había una intensísima lluvia, también un importante partido de fútbol (soccer) en el Estadio Municipal con más de 15000 personas y, bueno, se subestimaba al nuevo equipo de la Liga Chilena de Fútbol Americano (LCFA), que se tomó 13 meses en debutar con un equipo joven con 22 años de promedio. Parecía que no valía la pena asistir.

Pero como se dio el partido, el dominador estuvo en duda durante la primera mitad.

Treiles get ready to visit Legion for LCFA

May first, 2012: workers day, and Treiles worked hard preparing for the first game of South Conference, National Tournament, LCFA-VTR 2012.

American football team Treiles of BioBio had one of its last training days in Valle Escondido de Paicavi, in Concepcion-City, Chile, for its debut this 2012 season in Liga Chilena de Fútbol Americano (Chilean League of American Football, LCFA)

1 de mayo de 2012: día del trabajador, y Treiles trabajó duro preparándose para la primera fecha de la Conferencia Sur del Torneo Nacional LCFA-VTR 2012.

El equipo de fútbol americano Treiles del Bío-Bío tuvo uno de sus últimos entrenamientos en Valle Escondido de Paicaví, en Concepción, Chile, para su debut de esta temporada en la Liga Chilena de Fútbol Americano (LCFA).

This is the last weekend of the Fair, you can find some items in sale, but the best are probably gone, still, you can get in touch with the artisans, they may take orders, that is the beauty of this Fair: you can reach the artists, it is not just a shop.

In order to continue helping the reconstruction process of the devastated Dichato Bay, the Festival "Viva Dichato" will run every Saturday, with famous popular bands performing live, including radio transmissionn and nationwide TV (from 23:30).
